Words And Phrases That Sell - Internet Marketing Maven Slang
I will recommend you two books here. Two books I own and are great help for writing copy for the naive and are especially helpful for the non-English speakers. I've had some luck with good copy I've written lately and I used these books to find some catchy phrases that can play with the prospect's mind.
Phrases That Sell and Words That Sell are two excellent books I highly recommend to all those that need to write text to convert sales. These are a great source of inspiration for those like me that, even if they can speak English rather well, they're not into fancy phrases that give more / less naive feelings fuzzy feelings.
These are the books internet mavens use when they write the cheesy emails they bomb us with everyday. Even if I'm pretty sure you don't fall for this kind of stuff most do!
My brother falls for this kind of stuff
Few days ago my brother comes to me with a cosmetic anti-greasy and anti-shiny cream. I stare at him: WTF? man ... we're men not women :)! We both have quite greasy forehead skin, which is good as age won't show its marks that well but sometimes it's a bit too shiny. I don't care but he does. And he came to me with the box and said:
Let me show you how they convinced me!
And he read 3 lines (about 15 words) that convinced him to buy it. Copy with catchy words playing by the copywriting rules ... play on fears and provide solutions! They work ... probably not. But it's not easy to forgive yourself for not trying. I would have never fallen for that but ... it works for most people.

I would buy the first one but the only review on amazon uk says 1 star and this:
“I bought this book because we are revamping our website and I thought it could be useful to make our content more compelling but I was really disappointed. The book offers a list of supposedly “ultimate” phrases to promote products and services but in anyone with half a head on their shoulders could come up with the same or even much much better ones and I didn’t find one phrase in the book which I thought was original and worth buying it for.”

Amazon.uk … look on Amazon.com to see reviews even if you buy from the UK. There are always more reivews on .com.
One has 19 reviews and the other 24 and 4.5 - 5 stars most of them.
I buy stuff on Amazon.com. I use a mail forwarding service to ship’em here.

E-Mail is not enabled yet. Still testing the plugin. That’s for marketing … for now :) Will probably work tomorrow.
